Ashbya Genome Database .

Background

All information about 'GeneTrap' (Skarnes et al., 2004) is external to Ensembl, although the genome browser annotates GeneTrap clones in a 'Distributed Annotation System' (DAS) track along the genome sequence.

A GeneTrap DAS track is available in Ensembl 'ContigView' and 'CytoView' from the 'DAS Sources' menu in the golden menu bar of the 'Detailed View' section. As Ensembl is a genome browser we do not sequence or assemble genomes nor do we distribute clones.

More information on the GeneTrap project, a text search page for clone names, as well as a sequence similarity search function for clone sequences are available from the GeneTrap resource page at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute.

BayGenomics offers another GeneTrap DAS source, as well as detailed instructions how to attach it to Ensembl.
